About INKA

Homepage >> Our dogs >> INKA Marstal >> About INKA

When on 1st December 2000 the first "Marstal" litter (10 puppies) was born out of our dearest couple - PAX & NESKA, we couldn't expect that one of the puppies would stay with us. But plans are one thing and life is another. From the very beiginning a female with a light pink ribbon started to put a spell on us. Every puppy has a different interesting personality, but SHE was special. While all the puppies were sleeping well in the litter box, this 4-week old female attracted somehow our attention in the way that everyone of us took her on hands and lay down on the chest - only then she could also fall asleep. That must have been some kind of "chemistry" (by the way, even know adult INKA often does the same probably forgetting that she's not a little dog any more !!! :-) ). Now, we often laugth (or I should better say that admire her) at her that 'she's a rottweiler with life mission'. Even her staying at our home, when she was a 7-week old kid, looks like a part of her plan. We didn't choose INKA, she chose us ! :-)

This decision has turned out to be even better taking into consideration the fact that INKA was born in the last litter out of our one and only rottweiler - PAX (who died in May 2003 at almost 12 years of age) - because of his age we didn't accept any offers of using him as a stud dog any more due to our care about his good health (despite many proposals). Today a piece of PAX is with is with us... INKA - so similar to his in father in many aspects. The same hardness, temperament, stability ... and huge heart. All I dream to see in a real rottweiler.

The parents of "I" Marstal litter (inluding INKA) are PL Champion PAX Predator and Int./PL/CZ Champ. NESKA RAUBRITTER Ankus - the mixture of German and Polish bloodlines (in shorten). This combination was well-thought-out as we knew perfectly the characters of both parents who has been living with us from their puppyhood. PAX also menaged to proof his quality as a stud dog known for producing dogs with excellent head type and super temperament. PAX's and NESKA's numerous wins on shows were the greatest proof of their excellent looks. PAX, who is already a part of history of this breed in Poland, was famous for winning CAC in 6 European countries (Germany, Czech Rep., Austria, Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland) ! NESKA is one of the most titled females in Poland ever, who used to come back almost from every show with V 1 results. Besides, NESKA's 6 x CACIB from judges from 4 different countries speak for themselves. INKA should be proud of her parents !

Every day of INKA's growing up brougth us joy that this intelligent female had stayed with us. In the beginning of show season 2002 we presented INKA on a dog show for the first time. This was Int. (CACIB) show in Katowice (PL). The first appearance in the youth class under German judge - Mr. Horst Kliebenstein and ... V 1 & Youth Winner title ! Next 2 shows (Lodz - judge Mr. J.Gajewski - Poland, Bydgoszcz - judge Ms. A.Buriankova - Czech Rep.) - another 2 wins and INKA became PL YOUTH CHAMPION. So the daughter follows her mother's foot steps... On further shows INKA was exhibited in intermediate class - another list of success - V 1 & CAC on the following shows: Krosno (judge Ms. E. Buklad - Poland), Wroclaw (judge - Mr. I.Mioc - Croatia), Kielce (judge - Ms. K.Butrimowa - Lithuania), Poznan (judge - Ms. I.Matuszewska - Poland) and on the first show in a new show season 2003 - Glogow (judge - Mr. C.Petko - Hungary) at the age of only 25 months INKA finished her adult PL CHAMPIONSHIP.

Despite the fact that INKA was not exhibited as often as her mother, we proudly notice that each of her wins was given by different judge. Moreover, judges who awarded INKA with V 1 rate came from 6 differents countries ! Why fewer shows ? So INKA, in contrast to her mum NESKA, started to get bored with shows soon. If in the beginning she adored to present herself on a show ring, after some time she realized that all the shows are so similar one to another and her efforts would bring just a snack (that she might get at home as well). She started to lose all her energy while standing in front of the judge, just to get it back after leaving it and to realize again that world is beautiful and not so boring :-)... Well, every dog is so different... INKA is simply to intelligent to attend in so similar one to another events, I believe, and she still expects new attractions.

INKA succeeded also in training as she successfully taken PT-I exam (Polish BH) twice. In may 2003 she passed also her mental test without any preparation. I just wish I had more time on training her, but my studies and other private duties take sometimes so many hours ... . Then she could be a real working star, which I still hope she will be despite my lack of time.

And what about everyday life ? Personally, I don't think that there are many rottweiler females like INKA is. She has unbelievely strong and at the same time loving personality. She always knows exactly what she wants and does just everything to get it with incredible consistancy. Sometimes, it seems to me that there appeared a life plan in her mind as she was a pup, with which she follows up every day now. It didn't took her long to become a boss or rather a real CHARISMATIC LEADER, who gained respect without growling.

These are only memories now... Only after a week I'm able to writes these words - it hurts so much. INKA passed away suddenly on 2 March 2011 at the age of 10 years - within less then 24 hours from first serious sympthoms. We'll never know if she was so hard in mind to hide her illness earlier. She was our oldest rottie, but like a teenage dog in beheaviuour and looks. Full of energy, life and soul of us, of other dogs. HUGE ROTTWEILER PERSONALITY - still can't believe she's not with us any more... I'll miss you so much, my love.
